Privacy Policy

Effective 1 October 2026 · Version 1

1. Who we are

Global Genius League is run by Mentis Aeon LLP (LLPIN ADC-9584) (“we”, “us”), which is responsible for your personal information. We run the Global Genius League Championships, its leagues and online practice areas, and the website globalgeniusleague.com. This policy applies to everyone who uses the website, registers for a league or joins a waiting list. Most participants are children, so an account is created and managed by a parent or legal guardian, unless the participant is 18 or older. For any privacy question, write to hello@globalgeniusleague.com.

2. What we collect

  • Registration details — participant name, age, the account email address and telephone number, and, if added on the account page, date of birth, school, guardian name and location.
  • Competition records — the leagues entered, assigned levels, practice rounds and scores, championship results and any level-review requests.
  • Practice game records — practice points (XP), streaks, badges and daily practice time. Weekly practice boards show other families only the participant’s first name, last initial and country.
  • Family Challenge guests — relatives invited to a family’s weekly challenge enter a display name only (no email, phone or sign-up). Only that family sees it, and it is deleted when the week ends.
  • Championship exam — the answers given, timings, and an integrity log of events during the exam (for example leaving full screen or switching tabs). During the exam the participant’s camera and microphone are recorded, and on a computer the screen too. The recording is saved only on the family’s own device; it is never uploaded to us. If a result needs checking, we may ask the family to share it. A shared recording is used only for that check and deleted within 3 months of the results being published.
  • Payment records — the fee due and payments received. We do not store card or bank details.
  • Sign-in records — the time of each sign-in, the IP address used and the approximate city and country it indicates. We keep these to protect accounts and the fairness of the competition.
  • Consent records — when consent was given, to which version of this policy, and whether media consent was given.
  • Waiting list — name, email and league of interest, if you ask to be notified about a future league.
  • Website use — basic technical information your browser sends when you visit, such as device type and IP address, used to keep the site working and secure.
  • Website analytics — we use Google Analytics, which sets cookies to count visits and show which pages are used, from what kind of device and roughly which country. It does not receive names, emails or competition records, and we do not use it for advertising.

3. How we use it

We use personal information only to:

  • register participants and place them at the right level;
  • run leagues, practice rounds, championships, results and certificates;
  • send registration, payment, level-review and other event emails, and reply to enquiries;
  • keep accounts secure and prevent cheating or misuse.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

4. Consent

A parent or legal guardian (or an adult participant) gives consent when registering. There are two separate consents:

  • Participation (required) — covers registration, running the leagues and championships, results, certification and event communications.
  • Media and publicity (optional) — allows us to use the participant’s name, photograph, video and achievements in competition-related publicity, such as results announcements, our website and social media. Without it, we will not publish the participant’s photograph or video. Media consent can be withdrawn at any time by emailing us. Withdrawal stops future use; material already published will be removed where we reasonably can.

5. Who we share it with

We share information only with trusted service providers who run the site for us, and only as far as they need it:

  • Account and data services — secure sign-in and data storage.
  • Security services — invisible checks that keep automated bots out.
  • Hosting and email services — running the website and delivering emails.
  • Website analytics — counting visits and page use (see section 2).
  • Payment services — processing entry fees securely through Razorpay Software Private Limited. Card, UPI and bank details are entered on the payment provider’s secure page; we never see or store them.

These providers are bound to use the information only to provide their service to us, and may process it outside your country. A list of providers is available on request. Results that include a participant’s name may appear on published leaderboards. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

6. How long we keep it

We keep competition records for as long as they are needed to verify standings and certificates. Championship exam logs are kept with the results; exam recordings stay on the family’s device, and any recording shared with us is deleted within 3 months of the results being published. If an account is closed, sign-in is disabled, but the record is kept so that results stay verifiable. You can ask us to delete an account and its personal information; we will do so unless we need to keep something to meet a legal obligation or to settle a dispute about results.

7. Your rights

A parent or guardian, or an adult participant, may ask us to show, correct or delete the participant’s information, or withdraw consent. Anyone else may ask the same about their own information. Most details can be updated on the account page; for anything else, email hello@globalgeniusleague.com. We reply within 30 days.

Grievance Officer: the Designated Partner, Mentis Aeon LLP · hello@globalgeniusleague.com. Complaints about how we handle personal information are acknowledged within 7 days and resolved within 30 days.

8. Security

Information is stored with a secure cloud provider behind access rules that let each family see only its own record. Only authorised Global Genius League administrators can view all records. No system is perfectly secure, but we will tell affected families promptly if a breach affects their information.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date and version above. If the change is significant, we will email account holders before it takes effect.

10. Governing law

This policy is governed by the laws of India.
